Tests and Results
How and when to obtain test results from the surgery
Blood tests
All blood tests must be done before 12:30pm to ensure same day collection.

Samples
If the doctor or nurse has asked you to provide a pathology sample such as urine, stool, sputum, these must be left at reception before 12pm (lunchtime), Monday to Friday.
- For same-day in-house handling and to be labelled ready for collection by the hospital.
- Only samples which have been requested by the practice should be handed in. If not requested, it will be discarded.
- Please ensure, for auditing purposes, your sample is submitted correctly and acknowledged by the reception team who will add your name to the sample log board.
Samples received after 12pm
- Will not be processed until the following day
- Must be placed in the sample collection box (reception staff are not permitted to handle samples)
- Will be removed from sample box and refrigerated overnight by the nursing team to maintain quality (reception may remind the team if needed)
Results of tests and investigations
It is your responsibility to obtain your own blood test results. If the results are clinically urgent, the surgery will aim to contact you.
Results can be obtained by
- using Anima
- calling the surgery from 3pm onwards on 01892 546422 and pressing Option 3.
- using the NHS App
Please allow at least three working days after your blood is taken before following up for test results.
